John K. Adams
President and Chief Operating Officer
John K. Adams is President and Chief Operating Officer of SecurAmerica and started the company with its founder, Frank Argenbright, growing it from a business concept to one of the most prestigious and fastest growing security companies in the United States.
John brings over 20 years of management experience to SecurAmerica and has overall responsibility for both the strategic vision and tactical day-to-day management of the company. He holds undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Medical Technology and graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. He also holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from Webster University.
Early in his career, John worked in the healthcare industry and was Chief Financial Officer for several hospital facilities in Central Florida, including Orlando General Hospital and Florida Medical Center East. He then moved to United States Surgical Corporation (NYSE: USSC) in a sales capacity and eventually became a member of the company's Senior Executive Team. In this position, John helped lead USSC from a multi-million dollar domestic company to a global company with a presence in 55 countries and sales in excess of $1.3 billion. He also has held the position of Vice President/General Manager for Medline Industries, the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical products, with annual sales of over $1.2 billion. Prior to joining SecurAmerica, John spent several years with Securicor, PLC as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for their United States operations. In this capacity, John oversaw a number of aspects of their Caribbean operations. At one point during his tenure, John had over $1 billion in operating responsibility.
John has also served as a volunteer leader in many industry associations such as ASIS and BOMA. He also is a Board Chair for several YMCA branches in Atlanta and serves on other non-profit and charitable boards.
